INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY CONFERENCE

The Smart is Strong Foundation's (SiS) mission statement is to reduce gender inequality in society by empowering young women to reach their highest educational and professional potential. In our first year, we've approached these goals by organizing an annual International Women's Day Conference, a college panel at a local high school, and providing college scholarships for high school women.

We will continue to build on this momentum with the launch of our mentorship program, the organization of the second annual International Women's Day Conference, and more collaborations with other women's rights organizations on and off-campus.

If you didn’t have the chance to give on Giving Tuesday, here’s an opportunity where you can bring holiday cheer to a friend (or yourself) and give to a worthy cause. This week, we are selling CANDY ($1/bag of 10 pieces) and FUZZY SOCKS ($3/pair), where all proceeds go toward college scholarships for local Ithaca/Tompkins County high school women.

Submit your order online right now OR come into Mann Library tomorrow and next Monday. Gift recipients can pick up their grams on Thursday, December 6th from Mann Library lobby between 12pm - 6pm.

Come out and join the WRC for our weekly Feminism: Food for Thought discussion! We will be discussing gender issues in today's society with the Smart is Strong Foundation!! FFFT is open to everyone -- just show up and join in the conversation.
